Hi I'm the creative director for Joystick Junkies, a fashion label in London that's based on video games. I'm also currently writing a forthcoming roleplaying game, being released by Cubicle 7 Entertainment.
I started off leaving home to attend Nene College, Northampton where I did a Btec HND in Business and Finance, before leaving, vaugely prepared for a life of debauchery in rocking Northampton, only to discover that true debauchery was only to be found in good ol' London. I started managing bands and pretty soon ended up working for a music agency in London touring rave bands around the world. I then moved in to tv for a couple of years working on new projects before working for Universe helping to organise the Tribal Gathering music festivals back in the 90's.
Getting fed up of standing around in fields at 6am I finally set up a pr agency working with video games companies and hit on the idea of a cool video games brand that actually didn't make games but organised cool games inspired parties and made a nice line of clothing based on games that you'd actually want to wear out. Fast forward 7 years and suddenly we've got a full blown fashion label, weird how life does that to you...
I now live in London's Notting Hill, which is full of lovely tree-lined avenues, cool pubs and funky little bars and reminds me of my home town Leamington Spa. It's also got the great Portobello market that I often wander around on a Saturday.
On Tuesday's I run the Notting Hill Drama Group, like I don't have enough to do, it's great because it get's you out of the office on time, and through it I've met a fantastic and diverse group of people.
